Pros
Dolphin Browser for Android is Awesome! There are some features and user experience enhancements offered over the default Android web browser such as; Multi-touch Pinch Zoom like iPhone (*for Android OS 2.0+ phones like the DROID), preconfigured as well as user configurable Gestures (i.e. draw “Z” shape on the screen to close a tab), Tabbed Browsing, Saving Cache to SD Card, easily delete cache and history by holding the Back button, download YouTube videos, mark as Read it Later, Share Page options, and Themes.
When Android debuted we wrote a popular guide on how to save YouTube videos on your Android phone without a computer while on the go. Then Sirius Applications came along and developed an app for that, now Dolphin Browser gives this capability away much easier and for Free! Simply browser a YouTube video, select the video and options to download in Dolphin Browser (or watch in native YouTube application) appear. You can find the video on your SD Card under “download” folder.
Tapp the Gestures icon, typically in the bottom right, draw a gesture with your figure and the app executes. Be sure to get familiar with the preset gestures or create your own!
If more than 2 web browsers are detected, Android will present the choice every time until you check “Set as Default” then select the app.

In my opinion, full web browsing on Android phones is one of the top 3 uses of the device; Dolphin Browser gives choice in Android web browsers.
Just like using other Android web browsers such as Steel or Default Browser, yet to make it stand out it offers a bit more features as listed above.
If set as default web browser, this app would be used every time you browsed the Internet.
A strength of the app is its organization for mobile use, by default features like Tabs are shown but can optionally be hidden.

Big con for me: no location awareness in the browser for things like Google search, Gowalla, etc.
No location awareness? If true, that seems like a pretty big omission…especially when you consider the review listed NO CONS?
Question… since when did “location awareness” become critical criteria for web browser other than tracking? Dolphin Browser give you that anonymity and features to change header info to say iPhone or desktop web browser.
“Get Directions to Bla, Bla, Bla….” A frequently used feature rendered useless with no location awareness, not to mention a few others.
The overall point, however, is listing no cons at all for this app. At the very least, you mention this in cons, and defend why you don’t think it is a con at all. Sort of like you did with the Zagat app (prior to the shiny new Zagat app advertisement I might add).
How do clear a website cookie that stored my email/pass? I don’t want to erase all of them just overwrite one of them and/or delete it altogether.
This browser is better than the default browser that came on my Dext (Cliq) when I first bought it. However, the main reason I downloaded this app was because of the pinch-zoom feature. I wasn’t aware when first installing it that your OS version has to be 2.0+ for the pinch-zoom to work so I was disappointed, seeing as the Dext runs on 1.5
Gesture screen would not leave after haveing browser on droid for 3 weeks. had to uninstall and re-install it worked but lost all my bookmarks of course…any other way of reset or ability to back up info.
Thanks
PS great browser otherwise
I agree with Gyuri above… nice browser but no location awareness for Google homepage a BIG problem that should be changed a/o.
Who is behind the dolphin browser? Has anyone seen the code? I read all this reviews about the nice features, but I can’t find any credentials. This is a browser after all and people will use it for online banking and the like. Can anone comment on why we should trust this great piece of software?
You can find the link to the developer in this review, additionally the developer’s contact email can be found in the Android Market.
