Update, Corrections, and Clearing up Confusions: This is the 3rd version of Dolphin Browser (and NOT Dolphin Browser HD which is a separate app for Android 2+ phones with enhanced features)

Dolphin Browser has released the third major version of their mobile web browser including a slew of enhancements and a few new features like popup on-screen zoom controls (similar to that of Steel Web Browser… remember that browser) in addition to multi-touch Pinch to Zoom feature, plus bookmark syncing to Google account bookmarks, private browsing, user interface enhancements, and more.

Key New Feature Enhancements in Dolphin Browser Standard Version 3:

  • Gesture upgrade
  • Multi-touch Pinch Zoom
  • Tabbed Browsing
  • Sync Google bookmarks
  • Delicious bookmarks
  • RSS Subscription
  • UI upgrade
  • New themes
  • Save local links
  • Force Close webpage recovery
  • Private browsing without history
  • And so many more!

  1. max says:

Other than the UI what are the differences between the Dolphin v3 and Dolphin HD v2?

Why are there two versions of Dolphin Browser?

    • Our mistake, this is the “Standard” version and not the “HD” version. The “HD” version has more features and takes advantage of native Android 2+ software enhancements, whereas standard is for phones with Android 1.5+

  2. AndyH_STi says:

I could be mistaken, but I don’t believe this is the ‘HD’ version of the Dolphin browser. Rather, it’s the ‘standard’ version.

  3. Aaron says:

I don’t see the point of enabling pinch-to-zoom on this. It only works if you have Android 2.0+ and if you do, then you won’t be using Dolphin Standard now would you.
