Dia’s Likeness is a simple app that helps you determine whether a baby looks like its mother or father by comparing photographs. If you’ve ever had a parent/friend/colleague out rightly tell you that your baby looks like you (or doesn’t), now you can put it to the test! Simply enter a series of photos for comparison and you should be able to see for yourself. If you’re swept away by the joy of becoming a new parent, it’s pretty cool to try out.

Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Fun, great for families!
- Responsive user interface!
Cons
- User interface works well, but it’s a bit simplistic with an odd choice of font. That said, it does resemble plenty of baby photo albums I’ve seen!
Features:
Dia’s Likeness is a cute novelty app that compares parent and baby features to identify whether your baby looks more like the mother or the father. It’s all quite sweet and you have to use photos either taken through the app or stored on your device. You must crop the pictures and specify eyes, head shape, mouth, nose, ears, fingers, toes, body shape, hair and skin for both parents plus baby. It tallies all these features as you go through them and eventually an idea will be built as to who the baby looks like. Then you can see step-by-step which parent the baby resembles most.
Many parents, especially those fond of posting pictures of their little ones on Facebook, etc. will rejoice in the possibility the app allows you to post onto various social networks. So all your friends and other family members can see it too! Because the app places all the different features together it’s easy to compare or even get other’s opinions.
I think the app is overwhelmingly cute but obviously isn’t going to be for everyone. Additionally, I think some of the fields- toes, fingers and body-shape for example are a little flaky to be comparing. Seriously, a baby’s body shape is going to be completely different to its parents and there are so many environmental elements that will effect such aspects as the child grows up, so it’s not as if such things can be predicted using the app. That said, I see this as very much a fun app (rather than a scientific one) and it’s definitely worth trying out if you are a doting parent interested in this kind of thing.

Usefulness:
The app is fun to use and amusing- the way you can hone in on specific features and compare is very good. I would stress this is very much a novelty application though, I’m unsure it’s something you want to take too seriously. And when I say that, I’m thinking that you really shouldn’t think it is representative of ’proof of paternity’.
Ease of Use:
The app might benefit from slightly better instructions but with a little playing around you get the gist of what you need to do. There are more intuitive apps out there, but this is fun and relatively straight forward all the same.
Frequently Used:
I think this one depends very much on the parents and how much they like to compare these things.
Interface:
The app construction is very sound and the UI is very responsive. I felt the design was a little bland in places- it reminded me very much of old baby photo albums, so a little dated.
