Dayframe app turns your phone or tablet into a digital photo frame

Dayframe is a neat application that turns your Android device into a digital photo frame. You can use it to display family photos of great photography from around the world. Images are incredibly crisp and the display is customisable. Perhaps you’ve got a tablet you want to make better use of or want your phone to do more than just sit there and charge. Dayframe is a novel but convincingly interesting app that’s definitely worth checking out.
Tested on: Nexus 4
Pros & Cons:
- Easy to use!
- Effective and customisable!
- Automated and smooth!
- Let’s you share eye-catching images!
- Might not be something you use all the time/regularly.
Dayframe is an app that turns your Droid into a cool digital photo frame. It displays various selected photo streams directly to your screen, further allowing for an cool immersive mode which lets the crisp images take centre stage on your device.
Once you fire the application up, you can browse and identify photostreams from a variety of sources. These include Google+, Facebook, 500px, Instagram and Tumblr. The photography choices are top notch and cover a massive range of themes and subjects which you can browse prior to selection. You then select your favourite streams and view by pressing the play button. The images skim along and also display the time- much like an advanced ‘Daydream’ theme.

The app is highly customisable- more so if you upgrade to the Prime version of the application for a dollar. Extra features include playlist, utility timers and weather information. The ability to sync across multiple devices is an additional upcoming feature.
Dayframe is fantastically easy to use, but regardless of this there are some excellent tutorial elements that guide you through using the app. I think usage of the app would be a personal thing; it might be something you use whenever you rest your phone on a stand or in a charger, but at the same time it could be easy to forget to use it. If you really like the app and want to make the most of it, set it as your ‘Daydream’ choice and it will kick in whenever you want it to.
One of my favourite elements to the application is the ability to share images that catch your eye.
One of my favourite elements to the application is the ability to share images that catch your eye. Simply tap the screen when it is displayed and you have a share tab to select. Then, if there’s a gorgeous image you want your friends and/or followers to see, it just takes a couple of presses. This is undoubtedly cool, especially when you see the quality of photography streamed through the app.
If you spend a great deal of time at your desk and could use some visual compliment coming from your tablet or Android phone, Dayframe is an excellent little application that is chock full of great images, useful options and excellent customisability.
