Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Superb graphics!
- Online multi-player option!
- Simple to play!
- Traditional and Cricket modes!
Cons
- Can become a bit repetitive.
Features:
Darts 3D boasts impressive graphics and, while these graphics are only really demonstrated during dart flight, it’s still pretty cool. Gameplay is quite simple to learn, move the target around to the right spot, then adjust the power to throw as accurately as you can. You need a good sense of timing to get it right but with some practice this comes almost naturally.
When you play the computer you have 3 levels of difficulty; Easy, Medium and Hard. Once you’ve gotten used to the game, you’ll probably find Easy and Medium to be way too basic and plump for Hard to make it a challenge. Hard mode is very good and doesn’t miss very often, making the game far more competitive.
Other playing options include playing to either 301 or 501, Cricket mode, in addition to playing against a friend in pass-and-play style. Online mode is perhaps most interesting and you can find tournaments, one-on-one challenges as well as random games. Plenty to get stuck into and it has a busy community.
Darts 3D is incredibly immersive and easy to play, even if you’ve never played darts before. Even as I type I’m playing a game in Cricket mode against someone online. I’m getting soundly thrashed but I’m think there must be a hardcore online contingent of very good players! There is also a chat function which works well too, so Darts 3D is a wholly immersive and fun game with a thriving community and wide number of players already involved.

Fun Factor:
Darts 3D is surprisingly fun even if you’re not overly familiar with the game of darts itself. Gameplay is sweet and works well, adding the right elements of skill and involvement that makes playing compulsive. It’s clear that the online mode is where the action is at, but I’d recommend plenty of practice games before you get stuck into real players!
Addictive:
I have found myself being drawn back again and again to the game, which I’ve been playing on and off for a few weeks now. It’s quite relaxing and loads of fun. Obviously if you get stuck into the online tournaments and competitions it might have more of an edge, but gameplay is fun and an enjoyable experience.
Graphics:
There’s really 2 layers of graphics to concern yourself with. There’s the menus which, are a little scruffy- but then the main domicile of darts; bars and pubs generally have that kind of feel to them anyway, so it becomes more of a homely feature of the game rather than a negative. Additionally you have the gameplay board itself. This is functional and with some manoeuvring you can tilt the dartboard for better perspectives on where to throw. This gives a rich and deep feel to the board and adds to the experience. When the darts are thrown you see a lush 3D view of the darts flight and landing. This stands out as the better of the games graphics and has real quality about it.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
Sound is basically down to realistic dart sounds. It’s quite limited but music probably wouldn’t add much to the game if it was included.
