Cyanogenmod debuts 7.1.0 Release Candidate, Gingerbread [Techie Alert]

All rooting fans, rejoice! Cyanogenmod recently posted their newest Release Candidate, 7.1.0. Here you can see quite a few changes over the last release including running on the newest version of Gingerbread available: Android 2.3.4. Here’s a few items to expect:
- Support for more devices
- Bluetooth mouse support
- Wake on volume key option (awesome for those broken buttons)
- Control brightness by sliding on statusbar
- Add “copy all” to context menu
- Allow using wildcards for call blacklisting
- Support for revoking application permissions
- ADW Launcher improvements: transitions, catalogs, and bug fixes

There are many custom ROMS out there, but it seems that CM7 seems to take the cake on popularity and public visibility. On their blog post about the new RC and reported having over 400k users on CM7 alone (not including the many folks who may still use CM6). Check it out for yourself but be sure to perform a nandroid before flashing the newest RC.
