Controversial Dogfighting Android App renamed and back in the Android Market

In the past week animal activist groups and the media were in an uproar about the controversial Dogfighting game, Dog Wars, in the Android Market and it seemed to be removed by Google. However, the high maturity content rated game was only renamed, KG Dogfighting, and is back in the Market as a paid app for $2.99. Their $0.99 & $9.99 Adrenaline shots in-game add-ons, known as “Dog Bucks”, were never pulled from the Market. Express your opinions in the comments about the app or the pros & cons of an open app ecosystem.

Seems to me that posting the market direct link is encouraging dogfighting on the part of this site. Rather disappointed in that. (Yes, people, I know “it’s just a game.” That’s what Michael Vick said, too, back then.)

  Plus, your comparison of “it’s just a game.” is more like apples to trucks, than apples to apples… meaning, you’re referring to someone who actually broke the law versus a virtual game of simulation of breaking the law.

I still don’t see the problem with the app and why it caused so much trouble before. People need to get over it. It’s an electronic simulation. Contrary to how the media likes to spin the video game industry video games do NOT make people go out and want to do these activities in real life. Playing the Dogfighting App will NOT make me or other people want to go out and fight real dogs. No more than playing Mafia Wars on Facebook will make me want to go out and join the real Mafia or commit crimes. No more than playing Call of Duty making me want to go out and join the military, buy a gun, or join a militia.

The other problem I have with people complaining is that I have a HUGE issue with others telling me whats morally right or wrong for me. I make my own moral choices. Let it go… If enough people don’t like it they’ll loose money and it’ll disappear from the market. But if enough people like it and buy it that’s their right. The app itself is not illegal, it doesn’t break any laws nor does it provide a means for the end user to break laws. One might argue that it teaches people how to get into dog fighting. I call BS… There are far more websites online that not only provide the information needed but also encourage readers to participate in the real thing – something which this app does NOT do.

  Really…they have proven that violent video games ENCOURAGE violent behavior! And just by agreeing with a dog fighting video game your a sick person…anybody who agrees with this game is sick…. I dont agree with ANY kind of violent video game, but one that involves animals…wow….I dont get it…We have enough violence in our world with us people! Why involve innocent animals in the mix…

It is a proven fact that violent games encourage violent behavior. But why stop at dog fighting? All games that feature gangsters, soldiers, and mercenaries should be banned. Furthermore games that feature human on alien or human on zombie violence should be banned too. This will prevent people from looking for zombies and aliens in the real world and killing them.

It is clear that humanity, having lived through times of world wars and social upheaval, which has ventured into space and deep underneath the oceans, have clearly lost all our innate sense of reason. If games are not censored for us, how could we possibly exist? We would destroy each other (and dogs).

SARCASM. People, there are more important fights to participate in than a scuffle over a dogfighting app in this world.

GOOGLE! Time to flip the kill switch and remote uninstall the original version along with this one. Ban him for manipulating the system. This should not be allowed!!

I don’t care what any of you say, if you agree with this app being on the market, you are a very disgusting person!!

Well consider that Google will even profit of this shit. You cannot even comment it in the market without buying it. I can see a very good point why this app should be able to exist in the store. True. But comments should be free and any share in selling it should go straight to animal rights movement. Nuf said.
