Conquer 3 Kingdoms is a retro epic action RPG which sees you hacking and slashing a variety of enemies, building your powers and letting rip with an assortment of special weapons. Featuring lots of playable characters and 36 levels of frantic and challenging gameplay, it’s great if you have ever enjoyed RPG’s or even side-scrolling fighting games like Double Dragon.

Features:
Conquer 3 Kingdoms is a cool retro fighting game mixed with RPG elements. Take on numerous enemies with typical hack and slash gameplay and uses additional powers to take out lots of foes in one go. The better you fight, the better your combos and the higher your score and skill levels.
I especially liked the graphics. They’re stylised and retro, not dissimilar to what you might find on a Super Nintendo console. Controls are relatively easy- there’s is a directional control pad on the left hand side to move your warrior, while there’s an action button to the right. Along the right hand side there are booster tabs for MP and HP. Along the bottom of the screen are your special weapons which can only be deployed if you have enough MP.
The game (beneath the samurai RPG veneer) is essentially a freemium title where you need to buy in-game gems to progress. I did find the game to be altogether playable without the need for real-money investment for the first 4 levels, but obviously it can help you be more destructive and powerful. Free gems are available by downloading other titles using the TapJoy network, so you might have to try this route unless you want to pay out.
You collect lots of items as you fight and later in the game you get various pets (such as a hawk that swoops down and collects things for you). This is a nice touch and certainly a benefit of spending money on the game. Using in-game coins you can purchase armour and weapons, so it’s still quite playable without investment… at least for the first levels. I feel that Conquer 3 Kingdoms is a great little game that would otherwise be even better if there was a version you could pay for and just get on with it, without having to enter in-app markets.

Conquer 3 Kingdoms Deluxe – About
Fun Factor:
The hacking and slashing gameplay is lots of fun and building combos is very cool. The frenetic action is both exciting and enjoyable, and definitely has the nostalgic-factor for retro game fans.
Addictive:
I think many people will find the gameplay addictive, but the effect is diminished somewhat when you, perhaps, have to make in-game purchases (which, I should say, aren’t particularly cheap). However, if you are willing to pay, there’s lots of levels and characters to unlock. Additionally, I did find the game a little repetitive after a while, which may also put people off.
Graphics:
The graphics rest purely in the early 1990′s era. They’re colourful, animated, fast and look pretty good overall.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The music and sound effects are rich and very good indeed. The musical score is an epic sound scape of exciting battle-music and there are lots of fighting sound effects.
