Ever wanted to copy and paste text from Android to Windows, from Windows to Android or from Android to Android? ClipSync does it all, and really simple by automatically synchronizing your Android clipboard with your Windows clipboard.
Price: Free
Tested on: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Content Rating: Everyone
Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Your Windows clipboard is synced between devices!
- Copy and paste content from phone to computer, computer to phone, phone to phone, or phone to tablet!
Features:
When I first read the description for ClipSync, I wasn’t really sure what it was. There are plenty of apps that allow you to share things between your device and computer, some with more success than others, but usually it’s complicated and a pain to set up and use. So I was incredibly pleasantly surprised by this one.
To set it up, install the client on your computer. Then put the app on your Android device. Then tell Android to find servers (I did my testing on the same network) and it found it immediately, and did all the set up in about two seconds, without any further input from me. Once it was running, what ClipSync does is sync your Windows clipboard. So whatever you copy in one place, you can paste in another.
Where I was absolutely loving this feature was for links. I love that I can be browsing something on my tablet, and decide I want to view it on the larger screen (I do that a lot if there’s a form involved – I hate filling things out on a touch screen.) Usually, I have to email myself a link to whatever it is I want to share. With ClipSync, I just copied on the tablet, then pasted in the browser on my computer. And that’s it. It worked every time, without any issues. And it works the other way too – so, for example, you look up a place on your computer and then decide you want to put the address into your GPS to find it. Instead of having to search again, or email the link, you again just copy on your computer, go to your device, then paste into the appropriate place on your device. The more I used it, the more things I found it handy for.

Usefulness:
This has got to be one of the more useful apps I’ve come across in a while. The ability to sync your clipboard so seamlessly is just amazing, great for people who work at their desk with Android phone or tablet nearby… creates fluid interchangeability for copy/pasting between devices. You’re not going to transfer files or anything, but that’s not what it was designed for.
Ease of Use:
As I mentioned, I’ve tested this type of all before, and it was always a hassle to set up the clients and servers, and then get them working reliably. I literally had this one installed and working in about 30 seconds, and most of that was download time. You just open it, and it does its thing. Once you have your computer and device linked, it runs in the background seamlessly.
Frequently Used:
This depends on how much you go between devices, but if you, like me, still prefer to have a full keyboard and big screen for some things, you’re moving between them a lot. And the ability to copy and paste back and forth is a godsend.
Interface:
There really isn’t an interface here, since after the quick setup, it runs in the background, but the setup app is very clean and easy to use, with very clear instructions on what to do.
