Clear Vision is an epically cool sniper-rifle game with intriguing story line and lots of levels and gameplay. You take the role of disgruntled supermarket employee Tyler Smith who decides he has had enough of abuse from his boss and decides on the life of an assassin. Surrounding the cool in-game action is a gripping storyline which pans out over a series of cut scenes. The game is remarkably gritty too and very engaging. I should also mention that Tyler, and those who inhabit his universe, are all stick people…

- Cool game world!
- Remarkably created with stick figures!
Features:
Clear Vision is based on an online Flash game of the same name and sees you becoming a hired assassin. Initially you get post through the door which indicate which jobs you need to do, usually someone requiring a straightforward hit via sniper rifle, but occasionally clever gameplay elements like extracting some information out of someone in a car crusher.
As you progress you earn money and can upgrade your weapons in-game for tougher jobs. For each mission you have to factor in distance and wind-speed, as well as the precise instructions of some of your clients. You are then usually placed at the right time and in the right place to make the hit and it’s up to you not to miss. Sometimes you have a very short window of opportunity and on other occasions you have to take out someone who moves around a lot.
Underneath the missions, there is a wonderfully crafted storyline which is exciting as it is desperate for Tyler. What surprised me is just how engaged you become as a gamer with Tylers predicament. There is a startling amount of emotion in the game which, considering the characters are stick figures, is just incredible. More than anything, this just keeps you playing through the chapters of the game to find out what will happen next. Now, I haven’t finished the game yet and part of me just doesn’t want to, it’s that good. I have a feeling there are a number of twists and turns left in the game and I’m not convinced they will all be happy ones.
There are other elements in the game too which you uncover as you move through the missions. Once you have made a little cash you get the opportunity to visit an underground boxing venue and bet on the outcome of Fight-Club style bouts. This can help you make some quick cash and upgrade your weapons faster. This mini-universe is fascinating and offers some depth- like when you follow news stories in-game which tell of your kills and other local stories which offer plenty of humour. In many ways, it’s like a stripped down Grand Theft Auto where you have to complete underground ‘jobs’ to progress.
This is a game you have to play. In may ways it’s unique and undoubtedly lots of fun. The storyline is excellent and really adds a whole new dimension to gameplay. You can download a free version of the game, with limited levels, here, but definitely think about throwing a dollar at the full version, it really is superb and one of the best games I’ve played recently.

Fun Factor:
Nailing a hit from long distance in a strong wind requires some skill and patience, but getting it right is very rewarding. I think the plot that goes alongside the gameplay really stands out as an immersive aspect of the game. With different plot twists and gameplay that offers some variety in terms of how you carry out a hit, I’ve so far found it to be thoroughly enjoyable and something I find hard to put down for very long.
Addictive:
Oh yes. I’m expecting withdrawal symptoms when I complete it. The gameplay itself is fun and requires a type of concentration few games require of you. The extra-curricular parts of the game- such as betting on fights and upgrading your weaponry really add new dimensions to ‘just’ shooting at people. All-in-all, the little world created here is one that feels incredibly tangible which, considering it is all flat colours and stick people, is something you will just have to try out for yourself.
Graphics:
Everything is impeccably designed and superbly animated. You really are just dealing with stick people, but it has been created in such a clever way, with such canny effects and detail, that your whole experience with the game is a rich and vivid one.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound is quite muted and you rely on subtitles for the frequent dialogue. There are sound effects, such as immersive environmental noises and gun fire. Normally this would be something I would complain about, but the sound is so incredibly well done, being minimal actually works.
