Clear Vision 2 is the massively playable and expanded sequel to Clear Vision, which we reviewed back in November. Tyler Smith returns in this second chapter of his story- still hunting for his girlfriend one hit at a time. It’s a superbly crafted sniper rifle game that manages to be engaging, emotive and addictive. If you’re familiar with the original (if not, why not?!) then you’ll be familiar with a cleverly animated stickman aesthetic but here the new game is bigger, bolder and even more fun…

Features:
Clear Vision 2 reintroduces us to the shady world of Tyler Smith, master assassin and gun for hire. In the first game, Tyler’s girlfriend was kidnapped and he is still tracing every lead he can about her whereabouts. The game plays in a series of levels where you receive jobs on your laptop and then carry them out to given instructions. There was a little variety in the first title (it wasn’t solely from the scope of a sniper rifle) and it’s more of the same in Clear Vision 2, if not even more genius. For example, early on you have to drop a rock onto a target to make the hit look more accidental.
There are lots more options too. Now you can earn money by owning businesses or trading the underworld stock market. The illegal boxing is still included where you attend a back alley fight club and watch two stick men beat each other up. You bet on the result and it’s a great way to collect some fast cash. All this is in addition to the ‘work’ you carry out yourself. There are loads of new missions and cleverly manipulated opportunities to take out undesirables to order.
Tyler’s pursuit of his lost girlfriend pans out over several cut scenes and the story continues to build as you progress. This actually makes a nice break from the action and, considering, we’re dealing with stick characters here, is incredibly dramatic. You can skip all this stuff though if you wish- essential perhaps if you’re replaying through the game for a second time.

Fun Factor:
The game is lots of fun and I enjoyed the different ways you are offered to complete the levels. The game has been intelligently thought up and is always engaging and enjoyable to play. I drew upon the fact that it’is quite dark in the review of the first game, and this continues here.
Addictive:
With the narrative running the further you progress, you always want to know what is going to happen next. Additionally, with each level being different to the last, gameplay is remarkably fresh, even for a sequel.
Graphics:
Graphics appear, superficially, just 2D and flat. But, there are plenty of times where this becomes very 3D with clever animations and use of linear perspective. Despite the stickmen, it’s beautifully designed and offers a top quality visual treat throughout.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound is minimalist but exceptionally implemented where required. It works perfectly with the game and makes everything very atmospheric yet quite personal and immersive.
