Pros & Cons:
Pros
- An adorable, themed hidden object game!
- The storyline is cute!
- The graphics are pretty decent!
Cons
- You can only play the first few chapters free, after that you have to use an in-game purchase to upgrade, or use special offers, which didn’t credit for me.
Features:
I love a good hidden object game, so I was looking forward to this seasonal offering from Nevosoft. And the game itself is pretty good. There is a very cute story line revolving around Santa, who has gone missing. The residents of the North Pole have decided to kidnap you, a private investigator, to solve the case.
There are several types of screens, from straight story/dialog, to finding objects from a list or from an outline, to spotting the differences between two scenes. It’s a good mix of game types, although at times it felt like there was more story than game. Overall though, if you’ve played this style of game before- similar to games like Tiny Bang Story, it will all feel very familiar in terms of game mechanics.
My only real issue, to be honest, is in the payment setup. You can download it free from the Play store, but then you only get to play a few levels before you hit the pay wall. You can spend the money outright, or it offers a way to do a special offers type of setup, where you can earn the levels. To be honest, I didn’t have that it worked for me when I tried.
It was never applied, so I could either stop playing or pay. I wish they had a straight paid version in the market, since I don’t always like doing in-game upgrades – if anything goes wrong, you have fewer options that way.

Fun Factor:
The game and story are both fun, and I was enjoying it until I hit the pay wall. I wish either the special offers worked for me, or it was available as a paid app straight from the market, rather than via an in-game upgrade. I also think the cost was a bit high for what it was – I could see charging 99 cents for the upgrade, but $3 seemed a bit much for what you get.
Addictive:
This is the kind of game you’ll probably play through once to get the whole story, then uninstall. It’s fun, but there’s not much here to keep you coming back after you complete it.
Graphics:
The graphics were beautiful. The characters all had very distinct personalities, and the backgrounds were well done. The gameplay screens were the same as the backgrounds, so you get to play around looking at the pretty (if messy, I mean, it is a hidden object game…) scenery.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The soundtrack was suitably wintry, so it fits well with the game. I didn’t think it added much overall to the experience, but it didn’t detract either.
