CellAgent is a phone tracking app similar in many ways to the likes of SMS Tracker and Cerberus. The app lets you locate and control your device remotely. So if it’s lost you might be able to take measures to find and retrieve it, while if it’s stolen you have a few handy weapons up your sleeve the thief will not be expecting. If all is lost and you want to protect your data, the app enables you to factory reset your device remotely. In a nutshell, a powerful and multi-featured app hellbent on protecting your Android.

Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Great web interface!
- Plenty of useful functionality!
- Simple to use!
- Inexpensive compared to some other apps!
Cons
- Logging in was awkward.
- Subscription service rather than one-off fee.
Features:
CellAgent is another app that helps you track and monitor the activity of a lost device. Whether you want to use the app as a way of monitoring the whereabouts or communications of your child/teenager (much like SMS Tracker) or need to remotely wipe your lost/stolen device, send the device messages or take photos and/or video (much like Cerberus) it’s up to you. CellAgent is a useful app as it actually combines the best of both from these other apps.
You register on the Android device and use the credentials to create a web account. Now, I found this a little tricky as it wouldn’t let me create a standalone account (there is the option but nothing happened when I tried to do this)- I had no choice but to use my Google account. For some this wouldn’t be too much of an issue if you plan on using the app all the time, but it might be inconvenient if you would prefer not to use your Google details.
Once set up, the app works remarkably well. The web interface is very smooth and nicely designed. You have tab options to Locate, Track Location, Alarm (send an alarm and a message to the device), Phone Information, Phonebook Information, Lock, Hide (CellAgent icons), SIM Change Notification, Record Audio, Record Video, Take Photo, Photo Monitoring (takes pics at preset time intervals), Factory Reset and Erase SD Card. Each of these represent different requirements and stages, from finding out if you left your device on the bus, through to wiping the data to prevent serious threats like identity theft and a thief accessing personal information.
Considering the app blends the functionality of both Cerberus and SMS Tracker, it’s actually quite cost-effective. At $4.99 for three months, it’ll cost under $20 for the year. Now, while Cerberus offers a one-off payment of just $3.75 there are some things it just doesn’t do- such as SMS monitoring. At the other end of the scale, SMS Tracker could put you back $65 or more per year. CellAgent therefore is a fuller-featured and more wallet-friendly option.

Usefulness:
If you’ve lost your phone, or worse still had it stolen, it’s this kind of app that might rescue it. That is as useful as an app can be in my opinion. That said, it’s hopefully an app you might never have to use!
Ease of Use:
Log in was a bit frustrating as I couldn’t enable the stand-alone CellAgent account to work, instead having little option but to use my Google account. That aside the app and web interface is otherwise intuitive and simple to use once you’ve spent a short while exploring. Some additional tutorials might help, especially for Android newbies for example, but it probably won’t be a problem for more experienced users.
Frequently Used:
Hopefully you might not ever have to use it other than to show off to your friends. But then if your device was stolen or lost, it could be the one time you really need it.
Interface:
The interface is really just a small menu in-app, but the web interface looks and feels great to use.
