The Consumer Electronics Association conducted a survey in Septemember of this year to see exactly what’s on the wish list of consumers this holiday season. Turns out that not only are consumers spending more than they did last year but they will also spend the most this year than any other year that they have been keeping track of holiday spending. The CEA found that “consumers will spend $232 on CE (consumer electronic) gifts, up five percent from last year”. Ranking high on the top ten list was several different electronic devices including the iPad. This, of course, is great news for many manufacturers that are creating tablets this year who, with the right marketing, may be able to produce some great sales from their products such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab (Verizon, U.S. Cellular, Sprint, T-Mobile. AT&T)

For those who aren’t searching for a tablet (or those who don’t like it’s large size) could definitely consider a new Android phone as an alternative. Android devices range from low to high-end devices depending on the manufacturer and carrier. It can be a little tough to decide exactly what you want. We’ve made it a little easier with our Holiday Gift App & Phone Guide. The guide also will help those with current Android devices who are looking to compliment their phone or tablet with great apps as well.

Introducing Our Holiday App & Phone Buying Guide
Many application developers are ramping up for the holiday season as well so keep an eye out on the Android Market for promotion deals and lower pricing. Your favorite app that you’ve been holding off to buy just may go on sale soon. One of the developer’s we’ve seen take advantage of this opportunity recently has been ALK Technologies with their product CoPilot Live. In August, CoPilot Live had a sale reducing their price from $29.99 to $19.99. Roughly a month ago, they took it one step further and annouced a reduced price for their USA version to $4.99. Their product is popular in Europe and quickly gaining ground in the U.S. as well with great features at a lower price than other navigation apps on the market. We’ve received word that you should watch out for even more promotions from ALK and CoPilot Live as the holiday season approaches.
