According to Consumer Reports annual customer satisfaction survey, AT&T (for the second year in a row) is rated the worst U.S. carrier while Verizon is rated the best, again. Surveying more than 66,000 subscribers, Sprint came in second while T-Mobile came in third. This at the cusp of the FCC allowing AT&T to withdraw its application to merge with GSM rival. Looks like that acquisition may not happen if the main concerns of the DOJ is loss of jobs, decrease of innovation, and poor service. What are your thoughts?Read Full Article

The latest 'scare' in a growing line of recent privacy outrages is the one involving Carrier IQ. Now, the problem of writing about Carrier IQ is that the semi-official line of the swelling Android Community seems to change every few hours. The original discovery published on 28th November 2011, by Systems Administrator Trevor Eckhart, alerted the world to Carrier IQ and what their analytical monitoring software actually does. The Android Community media went from writing pointedly worried "Who are they?" articles with links to Eckhart's YouTube video to a raft of "Is YOUR phone INFECTED?" pieces that initially seemed to offer very little and mean even less. This progressed extremely quickly to U.S. government, with Sen. Al Franken demanding an investigation and answers.Read Full Article

ZooZ, a startup focusing on mobile payments, recently announced their in-app mobile billing solution for Android and iOS app developers. Downloading their SDK and integrating their solution will enable developers to securely monetize their freemium apps; free to download yet has individual charges for things like bonus or exclusive content, hidden game levels, custom avatars or even consumables. While ZooZ is in their six month Beta phase of the service will be free to use, sweeter for devs... they'll absorb all transaction processing fees (both Google and Apple charge 30% for processing fees.)
