Cancerblock Android App Helps Reduce Possible Cellphone Radiation Exposure Install

Do cell phones generate radiation exposure for users? That’s the question, and the answers are not yet clear. According to Olga Naidenko, PhD, a senior scientist and lead study author with the Environmental Working Group, “We would like to be able to say that cell phones are safe, but we can’t. He explains “The most recent science – while not conclusive – raises serious issues about the cancer risk of cell phone use that must be addressed through further research. [But we] can take steps to re- duce exposure [now].”

The app Cancerblock touts its market appeal of limiting exposure to radiant energy emitting from a cell phone while “significantly improving battery life,” according to company press materials. Here’s how it works: you, the user, decide how often the cell phone should automatically shift into a default mode which turns off all four cell phone radiation energy sources – antenna, WI-FI, GPS and Bluetooth – and limits exposure to both the known and unknown side effects of extended cell phone use. For example, based on a default of 15 minutes off and one minute on, this android app claims to reduce radiation exposure by 9,408 minutes in one week or a total reduction of 93.33%.

At a cost of a $2.99 download, with 10% being donated to a cancer research organization, a simple interface allows the app user to customize the default according to their schedule. iPhone 3 and 4 operating system apps are under development. Download the app with convenient features below:

Am I the only one who read this and thought it was retarded that it turns off GPS, given that GPS is a receive-only protocol?

    Shaftway,

The term GPS is actually a mistake, technically, most Android Cell phones have Assisted GPS, and you will have to find out if yours is one of those.

Assisted GPS, generally abbreviated as A-GPS or aGPS, is a system which can, under certain conditions, improve the startup performance, or TTFF (Time To First Fix) of a GPS satellite-based positioning system. It is used extensively with GPS-capable cellular phones as its development was accelerated by the U.S. FCC’s 911 mandate making the location of a cell phone available to emergency call dispatchers.[1]

    Me dumb?
When turned on it just goes into Airplane Mode. Am I missing something here or did I spend $2.99 for a toggle?

    whoafatt,

Currently, the main function of Cancerblock is power cycling your radiation sources along with providing a link to our website, http://www.cancerblock.net , for additional product, research, and device information.

The main application function has many benefits including radiation prevention, allowing for reduced exposure times, and substantially extending your phones battery life. On top of that the 10% of the paid application proceeds will be donated, so you are also getting that feature as well.

In the very near future, the Cancerblock Team plans on adding additional features that the paid application will receive. If you do not feel the paid application is right for you at this time, please feel free to install Cancerblock FREE. It is a limited version of the application and will not receive the same features our paid application does.

If there are any questions please feel free to contact us!

Great, an app to protect us from a problem that’s never been conclusively proven to exist and that, according to biologists, can’t actually have the effect claimed by the people paranoid about it.

I’m all for free enterprise, so I respect the Cancerblock team’s right to profit off of unjustified fears, but they truly are, still, completely unjustified.

      TurboFool,

Cancerblock respects your opinion, and you are correct, research is still giving mixed results. We would just recommend anyone who has qestions to read the latest Environmental Working Group’s study that explains the risks.

The Information below can be found at the EWG’s website:

      http://www.ewg.org/cellphoneradiation/executivesummary

Prior to 2003, studies of cancer risk and cell phone use produced conflicting results. These studies looked at people who had used cell phones for just 3 years, on average (FDA 2003), not long enough to develop cancer. At that time, studies had not addressed the risks of longer-term cell phone radiation exposures.

Scientists around the world have recently associated serious health problems with using cell phones for 10 years or longer:

Brain cancer: Two research groups independently analyzed all data from 25 original studies of cell phone users, and identified a 50 to 90 percent increase in risk for two types of brain tumors: glioma and acoustic neuroma (Hardell 2009, Kundi 2009).

Salivary gland tumors: An Israeli study found an increased risk of 50 to 60 percent for salivary gland tumors among people with highest cell phone use (Sadetzki 2008).

With or without our application there are steps you can take to limit your exposure and you can find out more at http://www.cancerblock.net/tips

      Sincerely,

      The Cancerblock Team

I just got a new Sprint Evo and this was one of the first apps I installed. I thought the phone going into airplane mode constantly was a problem with the phone but I guess it was a problem with this app. I heard the new Evo phones have new software that has caused problems with some of the apps. I would really like to use this software as I know these smart phones are supposed to have high radiation, however I obviously can’t use it if it is making my phone unusable. I am hoping the app can be updated so that it works with the latest Evo phones.

That is what the app is supposed to do. How else do you think it would reduce radiation? By turning off any radio activity…
