Can Knockdown 2 is a challenging and beautiful physics game. Simply put, you have to hit tin cans with balls by flicking them on the screen with your finger. It’s easy to play but accuracy is crucial. The graphics here are utterly sublime and look incredibly realistic. There are few different modes and a rich gameplay environment which is complimented by rich and immersive sound.

Features:
Can Knockdown 2 is a popular title from the same developers as recent AndroidTapp App of the Week Jelly Defense. The game has a very simple premise; throw balls at cans and targets to win points. Like a fairground stall, you only have so many balls to throw and you will accumulate multipliers if you knock-down successive can assemblies. Freakishly easy to play but the need for accuracy presents a genuine challenge.
There are principally three modes: ‘Classic’ gives you level after level of assorted cans and 5 balls to throw. Once you run out of balls it’s Game Over. ‘Target’ mode presents you with a series of target boards to hit- target the centre for bonuses. Finally there is the tricky ‘Sniper’ mode. Here random cans are thrown into the air for moving target practice. Very tough, your timing has to be spot on to progress.
You cannot but marvel at the insanely detailed graphics within the game. From the underground smoky detail to the detailed grain on the balls, it’s phenomenal stuff. For what is essentially a physics-based game it’s very accurate. While I don’t think the balls fly at the correct speed, the trajectory is perfect. Cans, when hit, often slow-down for visual effect- a bit like a punches being landed in The Matrix.
There is quite a variety of different cans to hit too; often with different outcomes. Can types include: Classic, Explosive, Extra Ball, Bullet-time, 3 in a Row, Time Cut, Extra Time, Speed Up, Sudden Death and Contest Can. Check out in-game info to find out what all these do! This does make for an interesting experience where you’re not ‘just’ knocking cans down. However, even with the added modes and variety of cans to hit, it might still feel a little repetitive for some. It’s an arcade game in it’s truest sense and, as you wouldn’t probably spend all your time at a fairground stall, Can Knockdown 2 also feels decidedly casual.

Fun Factor:
Can Knockdown 2 is a perfectly playable and loads of fun. It’s a short-term burst of gaming excellence that, while it won’t have you glued to your Android device indefinitely, will certainly kill some time. There are different modes to break things up and it’s easy to play for adults and children alike.
Addictive:
Like a sugar-rush it’ll be addictive to begin with but it won’t last too long. There is a real technique to hitting the cans accurately and if you nail it, the game can be very engrossing indeed. As mentioned there are three different modes so there is variety to play different games.
Graphics:
The graphics are exquisite, highly detailed and realistic. From the menus through to the pixel-perfect representations of cans being hit and falling, it’s truly breathtaking.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound is very good and represent the cans being hit in addition to various environmental sound effects. There is ‘canned’
cheering when you knock down all them but this is decidedly unrealistic as the game tends to wait until everything has dropped before it plays the sound bite. Still, it sounds good and is of high quality.
