cab4me helps you to get a cab when you need it – anywhere. Select your pickup location on a map or from your contacts, cab4me light then provides you with a list of cab companies serving the area. Choose the company to call. The database improves daily.

Usefulness:

You couldn’t ask for a more useful app. Picture this, you’re throwing back a few at happy hour and need to make it home safely.  You stumbled out of the tavern, whip out your G1.  Tapp the Cab4Me application, it reveals your location and shows options for the nearest cab companies, select one and it dials. This application is probably be more useful in areas not populated and abundant with cabs such as Chicago or New York’s inner city.  

Ease of Use:

The aspect that has the most value is probably the use of the location based maps, there is no need to type in your address, you simply open the application and it finds you. 

Features:

The feature rundown is fairly basic, but the next release will add payment options, cab car types, enriched database, as well as user submitted missing cab companies. Read more about the Cab4Me feature enhancements in our Interview with Konrad & Henning.

Frequently Used:

The frequency of use varies depending on the user.  One could use it for recreational travel, when in need of help, when stranded, or for business. There is an options menu to turn off the automatic detection of your location, amongst others.

Interface:

That interface is very intuitive, it features two tabs; map view of taxis or list view of taxis to call.
