Pros & Cons:
Pros
- A different twist on the classic drop games, like Tetris!
- Cute graphics!
Cons
- A little repetitive – new levels don’t bring enough new challenge.
Features:
Burger Joint is a drop-style game, where parts of burgers fall, and you have to make sandwiches. You get rid of individual sections by matching ingredients, or you clear a whole sandwich by starting with a bottom bun, adding ingredients, then capping with a top bun. The larger the sandwich you make, the more points you get (…anyone say Scooby Doo sandwiches).
You move the sandwiches themselves from column to column to catch the falling ingredients, rather than move the ingredients themselves. You have two ingredients coming down each time, and the challenge is to arrange your sandwiches to catch them in the best columns.
It was a fun game, at first, but I felt like, after a few levels, it was getting repetitive. You get new ingredients, which adds to the challenge, but rather than feel like it was more fun then, it started getting annoying. For example, I’d get three or four rounds of nothing but top buns, which, without a bottom bun to make a sandwich with, were useless. So maybe it was more a frustration with the way the AI chooses to randomly drop things. Most of the time, it’s not something I’d notice, much less comment on, but in this case, it made the game frustrating after a while, rather than feeling like it made it more challenging, and hence more fun.

Fun Factor:
If you like this type of game, then you’ll enjoy this one. Like I said above, I got a little frustrated with the types of items that fell, which made me not want to play, but for others, it will just add to the enjoyment since it does make it a lot more challenging.
Addictive:
For fans of this type of game, you’ll find this is a cute twist, and you’ll enjoy playing it.
Graphics:
The graphics are very cute, cartoony, with a lot of large color block areas. It’s not highly detailed, choosing to go for the simpler, bolder look instead.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
You don’t use the accelerometer or vibration in this game, but the sound is, like the rest of the game, cute.
