Lately in the entertainment business, 3D has become a high-demand attraction. Spatial View has jumped on the bandwagon and began developing an app called 3DeeCentral for Android and iPhones. This combines the use of a piece of hardware that compliments the app in order to achieve the 3D glasses-free effect. Cool huh? Business Insider expects that the iPhone screen will cost less than $20 so let’s hope that the Android version won’t be too far off from that amount.
The 3DeeCentral app is currently set to be released for the iPhone first but will soon come to the Android Market shortly after. The hardware piece called the 3DeeSlide is actually a clip on lenticular lens that can be used in either portrait or landscape mode (and yes, it does support touch screen usage while the attachment is on). Together they create a stereoscopic experience that Spatial View debuted at the 3D Entertainment Summit in Los Angeles on September 15th. No release date has been set for the 3DeeCentral app yet.
