Brainsss is a strategy game where you control a zombie horde. Munch on humans to convert them, sneak up to police, soldiers and other authority figures and generally grow your hungry swarm of undead!

Pros & Cons:
Pros
- Cute 3D graphics!
- Good quality sound!
- Addictive gameplay!
- Two modes of play!
- Really nice twist which put you in control of zombies rather than humans!
Cons
- Does feel a little bit repetitious after extended play.
Features:
Brainsss is a zombie game that has a distinct difference in the plot. Instead of playing the gung-ho human, destroying the undead without prejudice, you instead control the horde of zombies as they chomp and consume the humans scattered around the level. It’s a strategy game too so you have to carefully move your swarm away from dangerous humans such as police and soldiers until you can overwhelm them.
Actual controls requires you to group zombies together and tapping the part of the screen where you want them to go. In a way then it’s a little like the traditional real-time-strategy controls of Command & Conquer and even the recently reviewed Ant Raid. While this becomes a little more complex in Strategy mode where you can split your group and command it with more specificity, it generally feels intuitive.
Watch on Mobile
There are lots of levels to play and they get gradually tougher as you progress. There is some variety to the missions too. Some have your group surrounded by soldiers and police and you simply have to survive for a set period of time. Other objectives have you converting humans en-mass or preventing them from escaping in a helicopter.
Brainsss is a fun game that’s completely free and includes really discreet banner advertising. I’m usually very cynical of these things but I barely noticed the ads while playing the game and it doesn’t splash additional ads or force in-app purchasing on you like certain games. All-in-all it’s a nice twist on the zombie genre and blends canny RTS gameplay into the mix.

Fun Factor:
Brainsss is lots of fun if you like the idea of combining the zombie theme with real time strategy gameplay. The game is quite easy to play, at first, but as you progress the game requires military-level strategy to defeat the humans and complete objectives. It’s a fun twist and quite refreshing to play.
I prefer to play the game causally, rather than for lengthy periods of time. Levels do feel a little samey if you play for longer blocks of time and this does reduce the fun level a little.
Addictive:
The game is enjoyable and certainly addictive. You become quite keen to see what the next level throws at you so it can be tricky to put down. Levels generally take 2-3 minutes so it’s also an easy game to play on a casual basis one level at a time.
Graphics:
The graphics are richly animated and beautiful to look at. The characters are stylized and well designed. Shown in a predominantly aerial perspective, I liked the way you can change view and zoom in and out, allowing you to explore the level and strategically manoeuvre your horde around the level.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
The sound and music are typically excellent. You have cool music- it reminded me of The Sims a little- and plenty of zombie-related sound effects, gunfire, screaming and loads of alarmed one-liners.
