AndroidTapp.com Android App Review:

Pros & Cons:

Pros

  • Many features; mobile video/photo upload, post to Status and Wall, Friends, Android notifications, and more.
    Connects to Faceboook.
  • Native app.

Cons

  • Forced to use a code and give the app permissions resulting in visiting the Facebook website to complete (Facebook’s fault).
  • Can’t send/receive Friend Requests.
  • No Inbox (Facebook’s fault).
  • No Search.

Features:

Bloo Android App connects you to your Facebook account for Android phones (natively too… meaning not a web-based wrapper). This app is loaded with features; you can post to your Status and Wall with a message, video or share a link, post to Friends Wall with comments and Likes/Dislikes, upload Photos and create Albums, view your Profile, and view Events. The Inbox feature once was available, then removed (said it needs to be White Listed via the app developer) yet the button still appears in the app.

Gripe Alert: Facebook’s API is really SUCKY, unfair to developers and brings bad user experience to end users. Take the need for permissions for apps, they should allow developers the ability to pass permissions or code acceptance within the app. Not forcing the user to visit their website, login, grant access or remember a 6 digit code, then got back to the app.

Also the issue with the Inbox is insane. It makes developers look sloppy when you can get to the mobile Facebook website, unknowingly leaving the native app and sometimes have a better user experience. I didn’t see where you could send or receive Friend Requests.

Kudos to the official mobile Facebook website, as it offers a lot of features and free.

Usefulness:

Bloo Android App is useful for those Android users who love Facebook! There has been so much frenzy in the mobile blogosphere to have a good Facebook app, especially when Facebook initially stated they didn’t have intentions on developing an app.

Ease of Use:

The app is simple to use, however I wish there was a “Breadcrumb” feature or if the app used “Tabs” to navigate. You must use the phones Back button to get to the main menu.

Frequently Used:

Frequency of use is user dependent, possibly used multiple times daily.

Interface:

The user interface is nice; clean and optimal for mobile use.

by far the best facebook mobile app, even better than the official crappy app.

I use Bloo every day. It is the best FB app out. I love the face that the developer, has made the tough choice to not include features that require him to open an browser and go to the site. If I wanted to use the face book site, I could do that on my own.

I really have nothing bad to say about this app. Sure there is room for improvement, but it is really solid, and i believe it will get even better.
