Beat My Mobile Data Download!

I can truly say I live on the Web! In a recent called to T-Mobile customer service to find out about insurance on my Nexus One. I also found out how much mobile data downloading I was chomping up. I average nearly 1 gigabyte a month in an unlimited data plan on that phone.

I occasionally tether a laptop using PDAnet (awesome app btw), use Wi-Fi often when in the office or home, which still leaves room for tons of 3G traffic to tip a gig. Mobile wireless networks are getting fastest and robust. With Sprint’s new 4G WiMax network and HTC Evo 4G capable phone debuting this summer… what will my mobile data download be then???

So my question to you… Tell me in the comments below your max data download and whether you tethered or not to get there!

Not sure about my average (havne’t had my CLIQ very long), but last month’s total was over 2GB. I don’t tether, but I use apps like XWindDown to get podcasts while at work (no USB connection allowed) and Tube Downloader to get high(er) resolution Youtube videos. Other than those two apps, my usual social networking, web browsing, and online gaming can’t count for much of that 2GB, I wouldn’t think, especially since I use the Opera browser.

5.9 gigs in the month ending today. No tethering. I pretty much exclusively use 3G because the wifi at home is inconsistent.
