Features:
Basketball Trick Shots is a simple and yet extremely enjoyable Basketball Trick Shooting game for Android. In Basketball Trick Shots the objective is to combo as many tricks as possible and to make a basket! In order to stack the highest combos you will need to perform moonshots, bounce shots, blind shots, in and outs, off the wall, backboard shots, and swooshes! There are three modes of play: Challenge, Practice, and Timed; and there is also a personal high score tracker to keep a record of your greatest combos of all time!
The premise of Basketball Trick Shots is that you are a basketball player who is looking to combo as many crazy trick shots together as possible. You do not control a player in this game, instead you just control the arc and direction of the shot. Certain angles are better than others so it takes some experimentation with the physics of the game in order to determine how to make the best combos. You are able to shoot the ball towards the basket, towards the ground, and towards the back wall if you wish. After you choose the angle and direction you release your finger from the touch screen and allow the ball to be shot.
There are many possible trick shots you could potentially perform. The “In and Out” is when you shoot a basket which goes in to the hoop from underneath and then back down again to score. The “Swish” is when you make a basket without ever hitting the backboard or the rim. The Blind shot is one of the most interesting in this game. In order to make a blind shot you need to click the image of a person closing their eyes. The game screen then turns black and allows you to shoot the ball without seeing the hoop. This creates a very difficult shot, but doubles the points awarded if you make it. All of these tricks can be combo’d together as well to make the highest point value shot. I once did a blind shot, moonshot, off the back wall, in and out, with three bounces and then the ball went in off the backboard! As a result of this crazy shot I scored 960 points!!!
The different modes are exactly what they sound like. Challenge mode is a mode which forces you to attempt specific trick shots at specific times in order to score points. Timed mode is where you attempt to score as many points from trick shots as possible in a sixty second period. Finally, Practice mode is a mode which allows you to try as many tricks as you want without any time limit, and without having to perform a series of challenges, but is only available in the full version of the game.
Basketball Trick Shots also supports an in-game high score board to keep track of your best games played. Unfortunately the current scoreboard only allows you to see your most recent score and your best “all time” score. This doesn’t provide much of a challenge over time, and I would love to see this game incorporate OpenFeint or Scoreloop achievement system support for those of us in the Android Gaming Community who are a bit more competitive.

Basketball Trick Shots Help
Fun Factor:
Basketball Trick Shots is actually quite enjoyable to play. It actually would appeal quite a bit to billiards players, because the game is all about angles and combos. I found myself slacking off at work on multiple occasions playing this game, because it was both easy to play for short periods of time and extremely enjoyable to play. If you are looking for a short, sweet, and discrete time waster Basketball Trick Shots is a solid choice.
Addictive:
It is a pretty addictive game. When you are bored and in line at the grocery store, sitting in a waiting room, or waiting for a friend to arrive this game is perfect to play for a few minutes and to try to attempt to beat your old scores. I thoroughly enjoyed Basketball Trick Shots, and will continue to play it in my free time. My only complaint on this aspect of the application is that it lacks OpenFeint support, which removes a large quantity of challenges and competitiveness that should be incorporated with an excellent game like this. Hopefully this is something the developer brings to the table in future releases, and gives this game the addictive factor it deserves!
Graphics:
The graphics in Basketball Trick Shots were cartoony and quaint- on par with games like Angry Birds and I enjoyed them thoroughly. I would love to see more options for environments to play in. Luckily, the developer has incorporated re-sizable courts in the full version to allow for a little more interface customization than in the demo version. However, what this game really needs is options for various baskets, balls, and courts to play in. With a greater variety of in-game options to support user customization this game will have a longer lasting effect and will draw in users for a longer period of time than in the game’s current iteration.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
Basketball Trick Shots does not make any use of the accelerometer or of device vibration though no use of these features are needed. The game does have an excellent soundtrack. The music while you are playing has the same tone as the Angry Birds music and is both light and enjoyable. This amusing listening style encourages you to play the game for longer periods and is pleasant enough to leave the sound on. There are also sound effects in the game for the ball bouncing, baskets being shot off the backboard, the net’s “swooshing,” and a Ref blowing a whistle when your time is out.
