Ask NerdGirl asks and answers is there a music app automatically updates song I’m listening to on Twitter, Swype for Dell Streak, Scream My Phone! app left me stuck and screaming, and is there a scrollable Calendar app?

Hi Nerdgirl,

Is there an app I can use on my HTC Desire to play music that also automatically updates Twitter with the song I’m listening to?

Martin it looks like there is no app that automatically updates Twitter for the song you’re listening to. Most have priority of general music player features. I found SoundGarage Mobile allows you to manually share tracks on Twitter provided you have a SoundCloud account where your music is stored.

I’m blown away by the performance of Swype on Android; I just got done watching some youtube reviews of this. Wondering if you know if there’s Swype’s compatible w/the Dell Streak w/android 2.2 (and if it matters if the Streak’s been upgraded to 2.2 or if it came with Dell-installed 2.2 “froyo”)? I’m a little suprised that I havent seen any videos of the streak on 2.2 and swype on youtube yet, which is why I wonder if these 3 arent’ compatible w/each other yet!

Aloha Jason! Unfortunately Swype chooses to have a closed Beta in which they periodically open from time to time. Otherwise you will only find it pre-installed on Galaxy S, Galaxy Tabs, few Motorola and recent myTouch Android phones. This is why you haven’t really seen Swype on Dell Streak unless you’re in the Beta.

Update: you can root your Streak and get it in 318 ROM, here’s instructions. Thanks scottselk!

I have an app on my Droid 2 called Scream. I don’t remember the password. How can I make it stop and unlock my phone?

Carla I’m assuming you’re referring to Scream My Phone! app. The features of the app seem primitive and could use backup features to retrieve the password if forgotten. The workaround to this app is to turn your phone off. When you turn it back on uninstall and reinstall and remember your password or leave it at the default 123.

Sorry if you have already answered this…but I looking for a calendar that can scroll; you can change the font size & it can sync with google.
Any suggestions?

Mike I hope you know the Calendar app on your phone is scrollable when in Agenda view and it already syncs with Google. If you need another calendar app recommendations check out Touch Calendar or Jorte.

The T-Mobile G2 also comes with Swype pre-installed.

Actually I loaded my Streak with the 318 version Dell had released to it’s locked devices this weekend and it is preloaded with the Swype keyboard as the default. Here is where I found the instructions to load the 318 load:
