I want to take time out today to say thank you to my readers. Nothing on the planet makes me feel happier than the awesome comments you take the time to send me. I really do appreciate it and it’s what keeps me going.
I have downloaded books. I want to put them on my SD card. How do I go about it?
The process is fairly simple. Hook up your phone to your computer via USB cable. Tell the phone you want to want to mount the phone. Then, when the phone shows up as a drive on your computer, just drag the files over to the open folder and there ya go!
I can’t seem to get voice dialing. If you can help I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Marily
On the Eris, long press the green phone button until you see the voice dialing prompt to come up.
I’m debating between the LG Ally and Motorola Droid? Verizon is offering a 2 for 1 deal and $100 rebate with a 2 year contract. The difference is $150 vs. $50 after rebate. For Facebook, e-mail and occasional Google searches, will the Ally be okay even though it is newer? I’m worried about problems that may not have been identified yet.
Both phones are currently running Android 2.1 (despite the fact that the Droid was supposed to update last week) so functionality wise they are very similar. Honestly I haven’t heard one way or the other about the Ally.
I think the most important thing to think about when purchasing technology is the potential of the components. Let’s compare some tech specs!

Looking at this, besides the display, camera, and video, the Ally is actually a stronger phone. I think for $100 less, I would definitely go with the Ally!
Hi Nerd Girl,
Still love the emails, keep it up. Can you tell me when the HTC Desire will get the OTA update in the UK?
Thanks,
Philip
Currently, I have an estimated release of 2.2 for the Desire slated for Quarter 3 of this year. We all know how these things are never written in stone until someone actually sees the download appear.
To keep up on top of updates, release dates, and new device announcements take a look at our List of Android Devices!
Hello,
I just had a quick question. If I were to root my myTouch 3g to get 2.2 now, can I revert back to the default phone set up once the official release is out?
I’m on the fence about this rooting business but being in the information age and all I have become somewhat impatient and want things sooner than later.
I just discovered the AndroidTapp site and have added it to my favorites. Loving the Android.
Thanks for your time.
Oh also what games do you spend time on with your 360 and PS3?
I play pretty much everything except sport games. My list is constantly changing of what I’m playing thanks to someone close to me working at GameStop and my GameFly subscription. Feel free to add me on both. My name is a little complicated so get a pen. Ready? n3rdg1rl Shocker? I know!
Now as for your question, there are ways to revert back to a standard version of Android after you root, in most cases. It depends on what version of which mod you’re going to use. Honestly, in your case, with the myTouch 3G 2.2 update slated for August, I wouldn’t risk it.
