Ask NerdGirl: Better Collection App, Order My SMS, and Will I Get Gingerbread?

There seems to be a little confusion about the apps that we here at AndroidTapp feature. I get a lot of emails saying, “I downloaded your app” or “When you wrote your app”. We here at AndroidTapp review the apps, promote apps we like, and give suggestions about apps that we think with help people use their smart phones in a better way. We do not create the apps. However, if you would like to get in touch with a developer of a particular app and can’t find their information, we can, in most cases, help you with that. Now, with that out of the way, on to today’s questions!
Hello. I have an HTC Legend and the program My Collection. Is there a PC program for it as well or another way of using the info on the phone on the PC?
I have been looking for something similar. Unfortunately, no developer that I have found has created a collection app with a PC equivalent, either a program or a web interface.
I have also been looking for a collection app that allows you to make your own categories and use the pictures you want. Alas, that hasn’t been created either.
If you want to see this feature, I suggest sending the developers a message at their home page.
Is it possible to make it so that the newest SMS is at top on my HTC Legend? It sucks that I have to scroll down for 10 minutes. I see no reason why it should be at bottom, so can it be made to be at top?

Lasse P.
The Android 2.2 update should have fixed this issue. If for some reason for you it hasn’t you can try chompSMS. This free app not only allows you to change the sort order of your messages, but also includes themes, password protection, and signatures.
Welcome Back!
With Gingerbread set to release any day now, what are the chances existing phones will see this update without having to root? I have an HTC EVO and wondering if HTC and Sprint will give us v2.3 since it’s still a top of the line unit.
Thanks,
Nelson
HTC is being…well…HTC and saying that “some phones” will be getting Gingerbread eventually. I would imagine the EVO would get it with such a powerful processor and being a 4G phone. If for some reason it doesn’t, I know a lot of smart phone owners who will be royally angered!
