Ask NerdGirl today asks and assists with finding an app that notifies app price drops, what’s the difference with SoundHound ∞ and SoundHound Free, and any way to rid carrier bloatware apps besides rooting?
Hey NerdGirl,
I was an iphoner for about 3 years and moved to android about 1 month ago. I wonder if there is a site/app where I can know when apps in the market will get price drops. For example, app offers, if a $0.99 app get a price drop and will be free for 24 hours – such as the www.appshopper.com for iPhone apps. Is there such a site/app for the Android market? I checked the AppBrain but it does not have a wish list for example so it will send us notifications/email each time an app in my wish list will get a price drop.
Is there any app for that?
Thanks,
Iseif.
Iseif, AppBrain does have this feature, from the “Filter” menu there is a “Price reduced” however it wont notify you every time a price drop. Also Appsfire has “Price Drops” in their Streams feature, however, does not have notifications for it.
What are the “Special Features” of SoundHound Infinite vrs Free?
They are allowing unlimited ID’s now for the free version (http://www.soundhound.com/index.php?action=s.press_release&pr=22)
I can see they will keep your history of searches and No Ads.
Other than that – not much information on what the “Special Features” actually are. :-/
They changed the free to allow unlimited ID’s, only difference is paid version allow ad-free experience and home screen widget.
Any advice, besides rooting, to get rid of bloatware automatically installed by the carrier on the handsets? I’ve got a number of applications that I don’t use that were carrier provided and I’d like to free up space in order to have apps that I actually use.
Thanks, Kathleen!
Kathleen, unfortunately rooting is the only way. :-/
