Ask NerdGirl today tackles a few questions asking will Android 3.X come to smartphones, need a universal search app, forwarding email and text messages, plus how to silence notifications with one tap?
Nerdgirl,
What are the chances of 3.X being adapted for smaller screen/smartphones?
IF not Why not! I am doing more and more on my phone. Just short of Documents that need the bigger screen.
Also, do you know of any rumors that Google will soon be competing with Microsoft for the PC OS market (beyond the tablet)?

With the wonderful hacker community Android has, Honeycomb has already been ported to grandfather G1! I even read about Honeycomb being a fork just for tablets. I believe Google will approach it in the same respect as does Apple, tablet-optimized version in addition to WVGA and lower version.
Hello!
I am looking for a good app that can:
- search all the content in a Motorola Droid X (calendar, memos, notes, emails…)
- or at least search all of the above except the emails
- can do partial word search
If it can do the same ting on gmail, that’d be even better.
Thank you very much for your time!

Donna, Android can do most of what you’re asking already. Place the “Google Search” widget on your home screen and choose “All” which searched Web, Apps and Contacts on your phone. In Gmail, tap the search button to search terms. Unfortunately you cannot search Calendar, memos and notes.
Don’t fear, there’s a few apps to take up that slack though! Check out Power Search and Aurora Universal Search Android apps!
we just recently purchased a sprint epic 4g phone. we are having difficulty finding out how to send multiple forwards to different people. Also my husband was wondering if there is anyway of silencing your notification ring tone by pushing one button. A little embarrassing when it wont stop
If I understand you correctly you would like to forward email messages to different people. If using Gmail app it’s as simple as forwarding any email. The latest version of Gmail has a star, left arrow and small pointer arrow in the top right of email header. Tap the far right small arrow to reveal the Forward option.
If you meant forwarding multiple text messages, default Android can do this too. Simply longpress (hold for 2 or more seconds) on the message text and select “Forward”. In the To field enter as many addresses as you like.
Notification ringtones by default should be short and sweet. If you were to put something longer, say a 30 song track ringtone, you may want to change that to something simple. Otherwise you can press the Epic’s volume buttons or power button to stop ringtones.
