AppsLib. The Android Market for Android Tablets

The folks who make the Archos tablets based on Google’s Android operating system have created AppsLib, an alternative market for downloading Android apps to the device will offer paid apps on August 2nd in addition to the 2,000+ free apps in their catalog. This is great news for owners of the devices as well as wireless carriers whom adopted Android outside of the U.S. and Europe that do not have access to paid applications as of yet. Developers are also encouraged to submit their applications to reach more users and potential consumers.

Apps Lib is the single most useless site I have ever tried to access:

Difficult to bring up.

Login is impossible (out of 50 attempts I only managed once).

There was no download app option.

Totally useless, should be shut down.

  I totally agree, I got my tablet today and after three hours of numorous connections lost and sever problems on their part I finally had my account set up and the software updated, so I start browsing the apps and their are no download buttons anywhere! no click here to down load, no nothing

  Guys, the website isn’t the main point–you download AppsLib and then you browse and download apps IN AppsLib.

    Bonjour, pour avoir AppsLib sur votre site ces impossible. Lorsqu’ on arrive a avoir l’icon cela marche une fois sur dix. J’ai envoyer un Email a ARCHOS j’attend encore la reponse. Pourquoi faire simple quant on peut faire complex. Ne pouvez vous pas donner un lien qui soit plus simple et qui marche. Je commence a regrettre d’avoir achetter cette Tablette. Cordialement

I bought the arnova 10b g3 8gb today and the apps lib is absolutely crap thinking of taking it back .. might purchase an ipad intead . waste of money

I was considering buying an Archos Anova so I went to the AppsLib website to check that I could get the apps that I want but to search apps requires an account AND then the serial number of the device, so there is no way for me to confirm that, say, the Kindle app works on the device…. Therefore USELESS!! Then I read these comments. Definitely no Archos device for me!

I can’t believe these a holes think I’m going to link my paypal account to thier sorry app. I’d rather smash my tablet and keep using my pc. Lets hope these bastards go out of business soon. Leeches!

I agree with “Private”. I also went to their store to check what apps I could get, and it will only tell you the top 20 or so. Waste of time. I want to know what I’m getting for my money before I spend it. You don’t buy a house without knowing how many bedrooms it’s got…You don’t buy a car without knowing what engine it’s got….You don’t buy a pc without knowing what spec it is..I could go on forever. So why do these fools take everyone else as fools and expect you to buy an app based product without knowing what apps they provide. GET WITH IT APPSLIB!!!!!!

And there are also cheaper alternatives out there that use the normal apps market that are just as good.
