App Protector Android App protects any app on your phone forcing entry of correct PIN code password. Similar to Protector but without the finesse. For example, App Protector does not add a general set of apps that should be protected by default, so if you forget to add Settings to the protection list, the protection can be foiled by simply uninstalling the app. Features password recovery by emailing it.
Good app for protecting personal and sensitive data on your Android phone like pictures, SMS text messages, emails, etc.
Remember to add the apps or settings you would like protected to the list. Be sure to enter your email address in the settings menu for password recovery purposes.

Anyway, just to charify
It does add some default apps to protection, including SETTING. I didn’t force locking all task managment apps because there are negative comments about that function in Protector. So I learnt from it to not do that.
New Update: Unlock Dot Pattern supported. Now user can unlock by drawing pattern instead of entering password.
Boot any Android phone into safe mode to bypass all protection this app provides.
I really really need help right now. i recently installed this app on my nexus one phone and when i was setting it up i thought i done the password correctly. when i went out of the settings to try and test it out my password didn’t work at all and i tried the default password (8888) and it still didn’t work. now i can’t go on my texts, gallery, market or settings. WHAT DO I DO PLEASE!!!!!

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!! I am so frustrated becuase idea seems great, but there is no way to reset password after thinking I did it right the first time! I have installed and uninstalled 3 times now HELP!!
Sweeeet! Just bought and installed. Don’t be a doof! Decide on a password and write it down (before installing this app) Then, use the default password to open the program the first time. Immediately go to the app settings and enter your new password. SIMPLE. When choosing what to lock remember two basic rules:
1) Lock up every app that has something to do with YOUR sensitive info
and read the instructions for what can’t be locked.
2) Lock up every app that would provide a work around – like task killer or
settings, etc.

My friend got this app and the default password is not working and now he is locked out …so what does he need to do
I want to keep my texts and emails private, so I downloaded Protector yesterday. The only thing I don’t like is that when new texts and emails come in, and you use the pull down function at the top of the screen (from text or email icon), the first line of the new text is revealed, and the subject line and sender of a new email is revealed. Although, to see the whole message by tapping on the window, you are directed to the protector screen to be prompted for a password.
Ok i have the same problem I locked my phone and then you have password and passcode(8888)…WHAT IS THE INITIAL PASSCODE??
