Angry Piggy (Adventure) is a smart little physics puzzler featuring a pretty passive looking porcine (if you ask me) and dinky little bird and an all powerful cow. Help them traverse various levels by combining their abilities. It’s quite a simple affair initially, but levels get fiendishly challenging as you progress, making for an intriguing and fun platform puzzle game.

Features:
They say imitation is the ultimate form of flattery. Although the litigation-friendly Apple Corp tend to disagree with this philosophy, we often see games which either heavily borrow or climb aboard the bandwagon of many a popular title. Angry Piggy clearly attempts to ‘honour’ Angry Birds, with the use of a green pig as it’s main protagonist, but this is arguably forgiven in that is just about where similarities end. The aim of the game is to get three characters; Steezy the Pig, Haden the Bird and Moochew the Cow to a little rainbow area at the end of each level. To reach this, together, you need to use the qualities of each creature to progress. So, the Cow is heavy, Bird is little, Piggy is quite good and jumping and so on. Each level requires careful thought as to how to get to the end, and not leave anyone behind!
The game is truly charming to play and each character usually has a part to play to complete the level. Levels are cleverly designed and lots of fun. There are an impressive 40-odd levels in the game, so there’s quite a lot to work though. Each level gets progressively harder and you’ll face a variety of challenging obstacles that need to be thoughtfully navigated.
The animals are controlled in two ways; either by accelerometer to move left/right and tapping the screen to jump, or on-screen controls (left, right and jump). At the bottom of the screen there is a responsive carousel which lets you select one creature at a time to control. I often found myself working the strategy out quite quickly but then executing this solution was made a little tricky by laggy controls. However, with a little patience there is a knack to controlling the animals effectively.
If you like combined platform and puzzle genre, Angry Piggy is a brilliant example. Stacks of levels, intelligent design and clever controls make it a great game to get stuck into.

Fun Factor:
The challenge the game presents is lots of fun and will appeal to fans of platforming and puzzle genres. It is also very rewarding if you solve a particularly tricky level. There are lots of levels too, so there is plenty to explore and complete.
Addictive:
The game is quite addictive, and there are achievements to complete- however I found this inaccessible as these options were unresponsive- another issue with game controls. These frequent lags and interface problems diminish somewhat the love you might feel for the game. The challenge of the levels is very interesting however, and many minutes could be lost here. It certainly has potential to be as addictive perhaps as some of the most compelling games in the Market, but these issues it prevents this.
Graphics:
Graphics are quite bright and colorful, but we see far far better in the Android Market, so it’s nothing to write home about. There are a few visual treats to be had; the booty-shaking Moochew at the end of each level is funny, and I found the menus to be quite high quality with rich transitions. In-game graphics though, while ‘OK’ are not particularly special.
Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:
Accelerometer controls are an option, which is good, but I didn’t find them particularly responsive- movement was sporadic and quite hesitant. Sound is quite basic; there is a simple piano score in the background which works well, and the various animal noises are actually very good. There’s not too much diversity here, but it all sounds OK without being amazing.
