Features:

Okay, unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, odds are good you’ve heard of Angry Birds, and have probably played it at some point. The game play of the Seasons spin-off is exactly the same as in the original – you get a set number of birds of different types per level, and the objective is to find a way to take down all of the pigs using only those birds. The forts the pigs have built get increasingly harder as you move through the levels, requiring more strategy in where and how to use each bird.

What I love about ‘Seasons’ is that the developer, Rovio, takes the time to really create something new with each new Seasons release. Halloween was the first installment, and it has a creepy feel to it, with an orange and black color scheme. The pigs are all wearing pumpkins on their heads, and as you progress, you find ghost pigs and other holiday touches. Move forward to Easter, the latest installment, and the color scheme is all in pastels, with the pigs wearing bunny ears. Other holidays that have been released are St. Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day and Christmas, each with their own touches that really make you smile and add some new element to a game that just never seems to get boring.

Overall, I find Seasons to be the most challenging of the Angry Birds franchise. The levels tend to require more strategy, and there are less “easy” levels even in the beginning to get you started. The developer assumes you’re probably already a fan and know how Angry Birds physics work, so they toss you right in. I find myself getting stuck more often on this version of the game than in either the original or Angry Birds Rio, and that adds a great element of challenge that, again, keeps the game fresh on a regular basis.

Fun Factor:

It’s Angry Birds! How can you not find this fun? The graphics, music and seasonal themes, along with more challenging game play from the original, all combine to make this a must-get on your phone.

Addictive:

I think I speak for a lot of people here when I admit that I have probably lost days of my life at this point playing Angry Birds. Add a few more to that tally when you install Seasons – you won’t be able to put it down! Angry Birds was the original super-addictive game to come to Android, and Angry Birds Seasons follows faithfully in that tradition.

Graphics:

The overall graphics here are the same as in the original version, but each new pack brings it’s own touches to match the season. The developers have done a great job of creating backgrounds, costumes and even new brick types ways to arrange pigs that really fit the theme and add to the overall look and feel.

Accelerometer, Vibration & Sound:

Again, you’ll find the same sounds here you’ll find in the original, with that oddly addictive rebel yell the birds cry out as they fling toward the pig forts to make you smile here as they are in the previous game.
