Angry Birds has been updated!

Just received word from Rovio that Angry Birds is updated to version 1.4.2 in the Android Market. New features include QVGA support, some bug fixes, a new episode called “The Big Setup” and a total of 195 levels of enjoyment!

You can also buy Angry Birds plush toys! You have to visit the Angry Birds Store to buy their products although they won’t start shipping until December. Limited quantities available so make sure you get yours now! The bug fixes in the update also include the blank screen issue that users were having on Android 1.6 devices along with missing white textures. Enjoy!

Having problems downloading this update— keeps saying installation was unsuccessful— any ideas for me?

  I didn’t have any issues downloading the update. I get that error from time to time when updating apps. Just go back to the page in the Android Market and re-download the update.

yup– have tried that– I might try uninstalling i and reinstalling the new one— just hate to lose my progress!! Love this game!

  I’d hate for you to do that too. Before you uninstall try something else:
  
  Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
  
  Find “Market”
  Try to “Clear cache”
  See if that fixes the problem. If not go back to the same menu and “Clear data” as well.

    Darn!! still not working!! I’ll try again tonight– I’m just afraid if I uninstall it I won’t be able to reinstall the new version and then I’ll be bird-less— LOL~~

      Try this.
      
      Go to: Menu> Settings > SD card & phone storage > Unmount SD card
      
      Once you do that, try updating it again.
      
      I have had a similar problem with Angry Birds and other applications not installing/reinstalling/updating. When I unmounted my SD card, the applications updated/installed without any issues.
