  3. doughanson78 says:

    I’ve never even seen a G1. I’m definitely excited. Maybe I’ll win! It’ll be a first!

  4. Purple Penguin says:

None of the T-Mobile retailers in my town sell the G1 and I want one desperately. I’ve even convinced my wife that she wants one too so if the time comes that we get enough money for the phone she’s less likely to say no.

I also have a pretty good idea for a game/app for the Android platform. I’m teaching myself Java right now so i can eventually make it. I’d prefer a Dev phone but would still be tickled pink with the good ol’ G1.

I’m loving Androidtapp.com by the way, very pleasing on the eyes.

  5. wmmguru says:

Hey, whats up. great job on the website. love the shopsavvy app. question? are you gonna stick with the G1 or going to cover other Android devices as they come out?

  6. kyphur says:

Already accustomed to WinMo, just learning the iPhone. Android sounds good to me. I’ll do this just for the off chance that a free phone comes my way!

  7. Victor says:

    THIS PAGE IS AWESOME:)

    keep up the good work

  8. Manida Lisa says:

    I soooo want a G1!!!

  9. scr4ve says:

    Who doesn’t want a G1 ? ;)
Simply great, even because it’s not avaiable in germany yet.
(except developer version which is quite very expensive)

    *hopefully* :P

  10. This is a pretty awesome promotion! Especially due to some of the economic downturn, and the pricetag on the G1s right now. It’d be especially cool if the G1 were a Dev G1!

  11. Android Tapp says:

@wmmguru Yes, we will cover all Android powered phones, netbooks, etc. Basically anything you can run an Android App on :-D

  12. Mattmanx says:

    Great promotion, I need one!

  13. Acsteffy87 says:

Just Saw this today on TmoNews forum, great promotion, chances of winning are better than winning the lottery i think, lol

  14. seanchar18 says:

i would love to get a free tmobile g1 so i can prove to all my friends that have iphones that this really is better!!! =]
    can’t afford a 400$ on my own right now…

  15. topdnbass says:

The G1 is way cool =).
Sure its got its issues with the battery and what not, but its still great. Can’t wait to get one! Only a matter of time =D!

  16. kellyday says:

Good looking site. I just busted my G1 screen. Still works but will not last long before the glass started fracturing more. Anyone know where to buy a replacemennt screen?

    Thanks,

  17. john says:

    I would love a free g1

  18. Sady43 says:

First that I have heard of G1, android, and this site. This has been very helpful as I am looking to switch from just a cell phone (love my nokia) as it is no longer possible to leave work at work. Plus it is positively addicting to have access to the internet where ever you are! Not a techie, so unless my son-in-law want to help out, I probably wouldn’t need the developer version… Cool concept contest! Yes! I would love to win a G1.

  19. Sady43 says:

Have spent most of the day searching comments on the G1 haveing decided it is time to upgrade beyond a standard phone. Is this the best phone for accessing work emails, with file attachments? Anyone know? Wasn’t real clear in what I read as to whether a Trio or blackberry is geared more toward work applications. Gotta tell ya though, really want the G1 to be the right phone. It is way cool. Don’t even mind that the lack of touch screen keyboard. Texting on my little nokia has been a pain…so this will be amazing.

  20. Sady43 says:

Currently my Nokia says it has 5 hrs talk time on the battery. Thoughts on whether the G1 battery capacity is a huge issue? I am usually in the office and wouldn’t use it there. This is mainly for if I am out at meetings, I can quickly access a file, or if out of town, wouldn’t lug my laptop along…I am ready to start begging…No, not really. Sounds like some people really need it. I just want it:)

  21. jace says:

    i need this phone

  22. Android Tapp says:

@Sady43 To be honest, this is not the greatest phone for accessing work email, as corporate email support is lacking. Google is aware of this huge issue and are trying to address it. For now, there’s work-arounds.

Unlike Blackberry, the email is not “pushed” to your device the instant it comes. Instead, you have to have your work/regular email auto forwarded to Gmail (or in reverse have Gmail automattically go get your work/regular email… because you need a Gmail account to use the phone) and the phone auto checks Gmail. The POP3 and IMAP email clients on the phone suck but are manageable. But the beauty in the phone is that some developer will come along and create an app to fix that, it’s really a matter of time.

You can get attachments but only the following types are able to be opened:
JPG, GIF, PNG, TXT, DOC, XLS

  23. @ Sady43 & Antonio/Android Tapp,

Have you tried the paid Android app for Exchange support TouchDown – http://www.nitrodesk.com/dk_touchdownFeatures.aspx ?

I havent seen AndTapp review it yet but would be a great app review for the site!

  25. akeem says:

hopefully i would win this promotion,,,btw the g1 is a really nice fone….

  26. Awsum41rWhtesx says:

Hope I win the G1. I’ve had my eyes on it even before it came out. If I win this, there will be no possible way that anything can get me down.

  27. gr8chan says:

Ive been fiending for the g1 forever now. i must have watched every video review and unboxing out there. go g1!

  28. Paulorama says:

I have to admit, I also have watched pretty much every G1 video on the web.

  29. choclitsmile says:

Well I won’t be shy I hope I get the new G1 I love this phone my friend has one ansd it rocks i have downloded all kind of cool stuff on her phone i would buy it but i cant afford to pay full retail price but i really want it !!!!!

  30. c127618 says:

    g1…damn cool phone

  31. papiwilly says:

I sell Audi’s and want to buy good smartphone and was thinking of IPhone 3G but don’t like AT&T.
I searched on new Android phone and I want it!
Just love to be able to prototype it, if HTC wants me to test it for free!
If I can be blessed with the G1, love it!

  32. Paulorama says:

You sell Audi’s but you can’t afford your own phone? Also, it’s not a prototype and I’m pretty sure the thousands of people who have bought the phone have done enough testing.

  33. rabid_nerd says:

Dev phone would be cool (’bout same $$, isn’t it?). Anyone hear about video specs? Better than QCIF I hope. Will tweet soon..

  34. doll143 says:

oooooooooooooooohhh iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant! iwant!

  35. sjoblom says:

Ok, here’s a comment: Good luck to all, but slighly more to me.

  36. Eddie says:

I kinda advertised the site on my g1 review video on youtube and posted the link in the promotion instructions…does that count as a blog entrie? lmk thanks!

  37. Android Tapp says:

@Michael TouchDown has been in our review queue for a while, hasn’t been reviewed because we’re still on Dominoe/Lotus with Outlook connectors :-(

    Exchange coming soon…

@Eddie Post your YouTube vid link or Driodeo.com vid link here and we’ll count ya!

  38. granitehead says:

I saw the New G2, and from the looks of it, the G1 is less sleek but more pragmatic (keyboard, etc). Who knows though, I’m just always a big fan of the keyboard. I’ve had a chance to play with the G1 that my friend bought, great device, saved my butt in walmart too.

  39. I have signed up for your site. I am really intrigued by the ability to use the G1 for comparison shopping by taking a photo of the product’s bar code. That alone is enough to make me want one.

  40. I Dugg the giveaway. User name elementdesigner

  41. Android Tapp says:

@Jennae @ Green Your Decor The Barcode scanner apps work even better than taking a picture of the barcodes, they use the phones camera to focus on the barcode in real-time, once it reads it… checks the database for the prices (if available). Thanks for participating ;-)

  42. pr0cl1v1ty says:

the g1 is still a very beta phone i cant wait till the cupcake branch finally develops to the phone soooooo exciteD! :D

  43. JGrubbs says:

I am the new IT Director at work as of last year. I would love to replace my “flip phone” with a G1. Everyone else is getting the iPhone and the Windows Mobile devices, but I am a BIG linux fan, and would LOVE to have a G1!!!

  44. Android Tapp says:

@JGrubbs You’re susposed to be a gadget junkie like the rest of us… lol :-D Surprised you dont have a crackberry too.

Your Blogger didn’t Ping us, but we got your extra entries anyway.

    I assume you’re a LAMP shop?

  45. Paulorama says:

Hey, are we supposed comment with everywhere we entered? I thought you guys were just going to pick from one of the entry methods and pick a person from there. I Dugg this and am following on Twitter, should I post my info here?

    Anticipation is building up!

  46. r1k0 says:

Oooo, this would be a nice tool for development. The emulator isn’t as cool :) .

  47. Android Tapp says:

@Paulorama Yes, we’re going to tally everyone’s entries, mix everything up and pull a winner

  48. linkages says:

I have a few ideas for some neat Android apps. If I get a phone, I’ll probably develop them and then have androidtapp.com review them.

  50. Paulorama says:

Okay, since it’s done that way I’ll list my entries here like some other people are:

    AndroidTapp+ comment: Paulorama
    Digg: Paulorific
    Twitter: Paulorific

I like what that other guy said: Good luck to everyone, but slightly more to me.
