Why buy a G1 instead of the Android Dev Phone 1? The ADP1 is unlocked and 50 bucks less expensive than the G1!

What an excellent idea for a holiday competition! I’d been trying to get my hands on a demo-unit for the G1 in a few t-mobile shops near me, and none of them had any available, one of them even claiming someone ran off with theirs (which is something to keep in mind, if you want one for free
)
So yeah, I wouldn’t mind winning this competition, and not only getting to try the android out, being able to keep it!

I am a father of four kids and i barely have time to do anything for myself.This is the one thing i really would like to have but cant afford right now. With the new G1 I could manage my life out a little better and schedule my family activities a whole lot better
I hope that the phone winner will be drawn randomly so these pleas to win the phone are falling on deaf ears. Everyone needs a new phone. Offering one free phone for free marketing is a great idea. Twitter away guys.

Of course, I’d like to win a free G1, otherwise I’m holding out until the G2 is released in the spring. Supposedly, they’ll be adding some of the functions, such as WiFi, that should have been included in the first model, and, if the pictures are accurate, it’s much better looking.
There’s three things I’d like to say:
1. Thanks for being the first guys to pioneer a G1 giveaway already!!
2. I have to say, Your Signup/Registration process was the most efficient I’ve EVER seen in my life I was signed up in less than 15seconds!!
And 3. Please, if you’re on the fence about whether to buy the T-mo G1 or The Dev 1 Put it to a vote or something, just let us know what you’re going to do.

I would love a gift like this. The Android software is excellent and will take the cell phone industry by storm. The only gripe I have is the design of the G1. I sure hope HTC is redesigning it to look like the HTC Touch HD. But the G1 is the bomb. Come on let me win I need a new phone.
The G1 is awesome for a giveaway but please do consider giving away a developer phone. Totally open and unlocked to any provider.
This seems like a miracle. Being an HTC fan for 5 years now, i have vigorously used up my sp5m to the point where the joy stick refuses to work without being tapped atleast 5 times. I have been drooling over the G1 for 4 months now, but being in med school has left me with almost no money to buy a decent phone. I really hope i win this…Amen.

@jeyges The G1 already has Wifi and it works quite well or so my co-workers say. I could not tell you since I do not have one yet. From everything I have heard from other websites and from my inside person at T-Mobile. the G2 will not be out for a while.
That will be cool to win a brand new G1 because the G1 is great phone and the Android software is truly excellent. Good luck to everyone on winning the G1.

The latest word is that the G2 will be released in April.

I have been trying to get my hands on a white, those babies are hard to come by.
The G1 is wayyy better than I thought it would be! Great phone, now I just need one for my wife!
Checked it out at a T-mo store and it looked pretty good. Can’t wait to get one and start developing! I have over 20+ ideas for apps. Hopefully a fraction of that will come to completion.
