There are many ways to monetize from a mobile application that is free to the consumer. Many are familiar with mobile ad networks like AdMob. I sat down in a one on one interview with GoldSpot Media CEO, Srini Dharmaji, at CTIA Wireless to learn how his company brings its own niche approach to the mobile ad network market with video ads.
They recently launched their miAPI client SDK for Android, iPhone/iPad, Blackberry, Symbian and Java feature phones that would allow developers to stream contextual as well as demographical video ads in-app. The video can be streamed like an intro while the app loads (something iPhone users are accustomed to seeing upon app load). Developers can take advantage of this window to use GoldSpot’s ad network to stream interactive video ads. Their technology goes even further to adjust and deliver the appropriate video size and quality depending on phone type, platform, screen size, and wireless data coverage.
For advertisers this brings about a niche branch in mobile advertising to reach consumers directly on their cellphones using traditional advertising medium. Advertisers are then offered more action items. Also advantageous for advertisers, developers and industry analysis will be their metrics they plan to share about mobile video advertising trends.
If you’re an Android or iPhone developer an seeking other methods to maximize magnetization or deliver an interactive Flash-like experience on Apple based devices… GoldSpot Media is a resource to check out.
