Attention Android Developers… AppBrain launches Apptimizer, an SEO & analytics tool to optimize discovery of your Android apps. Now that Google Play has tipped more than 700k apps and will soon hit a billion at this rate, Apptimizer is a tool to help developers see visual signals from raw data of what help or hinders downloads of apps.
Apptimizer Android App Score
Apptimizer APK Size
We’ve taken a look at the Instagram app and the tool shows how a smaller file size app receives more downloads. Some factors can include a customer may have a limited data plan or the download could take too long.
The tool compares monetization techniques of paid versus free apps, and it reports that only about 25% of Android apps are paid while about 75% are free (no differentiation of freemium titles). Note: more than 60% of iOS are paid for. It suggests free apps reach larger audiences, and freemium or free trial apps garner more long term revenue.
Apptimizer User Feedback and Ratings
Apptimizer Highlighted Comments with Tag Cloud
There is a comparison of user ratings, ratings over time, a tag cloud of the keywords customers use to describe your app, and highlighted good and bad comments are present as well. Which helps in wading through, what could be a sea of frivolous comments (makes you appreciate concise experts comments huh?) 😛
Apptimizer App Description with Strong Keywords
Apptimizer looks at the introduction of ASO (App Store Optimization), an alternate form of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), noting description length, comparing to average description lengths and frequently used keywords in descriptions.
Apptimizer Privacy Permissions and Aggressive Ads
Lastly, the tool shows any privacy concerns, as too many and/or over zealous use of permissions many deter downloads. Just as well as the use of aggressive ad networks in apps.
This is great help for developers to have tools to stay more competitive in an ever-growing marketplace.
