Andy Rubin Demos Android 3.0 Homeycomb Motorola Tablet
At D:Dive Into Mobile conference Andy Rubin, VP of Engineering at Google, showed off features of Android 3.0 codename Honeycomb. This on the same day Samsung and Google unveiled the Nexus S, first Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone (Oh, don’t forget to see what’s new in the OS). Rubin showed off a prototype Motorola tablet showcasing the new Google Maps with 3D buildings, 3D tilting, rotations and shadowing powered by NVIDIA’s dual-core 3D graphics processor. Goodie, we Android smartphone owners will get first dibs at it in a few days, so stay tuned for that!
