I have been using AK Notepad and my Catch.com account fully integrated for the past few months. During this period of time, I was always able to synchronize the contents that came from one way or the other with no further problems. Nevertheless, after having replaced my Android mobile phone by a new device which I have just bought, the mentioned synchronization has not been working well anymore. Now, I am not able to visualize on the AK Notepad app the notes available in Catch.com (not the ones that existed before the purchase of the new Android phone, nor the new ones I create now) anymore. The only feature that works is the following: if I create a note in AK Notepad and then edit it in my Catch.com account I will perceive the alterations back in my Android phone. None of the other use cases of the software will work. Could anyone please help me with that?

AK notepad is a piece of garbage. I went to a jazz show for my history of jazz class and took notes on it. They did not get saved and I lost all my notes and now I have nothing to write my paper about because AK IS A PIECE OF CRAP

Well thank goodness. I've been looking for this. All I wanted was a simple, quick text based place to jot stuff down. None of this fancy hoo haa with wireless interface that doesn't work when you need it most. No more digging in the bottom of my bag for a pen that stops writing in the middle of a sentence or scribbling on my hand for lack of paper.

I am quite found of AK Notepad. It was working fine, and still does, but a few weeks ago the LED stopped notifying me of a note reminder. The ringtone still works so nothing impotent missed, yet. But if one day I don't haven my phone with me I will most definitely miss the note notification. I use a Nexus One, and I was thinking maybe the Light Flow LED control application interferes with AK Notepad.

I think AK Notepad is a good tool for making notes, but I would like to be able to postpone a reminder if I choose to do so. As it is now, this reminder is almost "hiding" and is very easy to miss. I would like it to show on the desktop screen so you just cannot miss it and force you to press OK or to postpone the reminder. I would like to be able to postpone it for 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours and then also to be able to customize when I want it to remind me instead. If that would be possible in the next upgrade, that would be great :-)

I have a Droid x and in it AK NOTEPAD I really like it for my important notes.

My Droid x just when I wanted to send in a report using my data in my notes the Droid X would not boot up.

Droid X just goes to the M logo then to Droid splash and then Droid Red Eye ball and cycles in that mode constantly.

I have tried Verizon & Motorola and now decided to see if you can help me retrieve my notes.

Does Ak Notepad save to the SD card, all I ever did was move out the a note and it saved automatically did this function save it to the SD card ?

I have noticed in one other post someone moving the SD card to a PC reader? TO retrieve deleted notes

I am patient but this is a real bunch of BS on the part of Motorola & Verizon

Thanks in advance:

Your notes are probably saved as text files on the sd-card of your phone. The only option I see is the take the card out, then try to recover the removed files. On a Windows PC (with a card reader) there are several apps for this, probably on the mac as well.

Another option, for the time being, is to take the card out, make an image of the card (a bit-for-bit copy) and use that to recover the text files later. That way you can put the card back into your phone.

If you don't know how to do these things, find someone who knows what he/she does, because you can mess up things.

I don't know how important those files are, and how many you've lost. In the future you could sync the files with the built-in option to save them online.

And you've just learned the lesson of making backups, well - of not making them. Be happy that it's just a few notes, not your family album with all your photos of the past years. Make backups, and make several on different media (online and offline), of all your data, phone or computer.

I like this app. I'm used to the iphone notes alternative, and this comes close. Several things could be improved. The most important for me is the standard action. Now if you set it to "view", you cannot edit the note by tapping the screen. You need to open the menu first and choose edit there. If you set the standard action to "edit", the keyboard opens and half the note disappears.

I suggest a third option: view&tap-to-edit, which means that the note opens without keyboard, and one tap on the screen opens the keyboard.

Another annoyance is the title. In iphone notes, the first line is used as title. In AK Notepad it seems like the first xxx characters are shown. So take the following example:

Test title
Some more text
And more

This results in the title "Test title Some more text And". The title should be "Test title". Then it would be handy to create another option, to use the first line as title, so editing that first line changes the title. This can be optional of course if people prefer the separate title field.

Now I enter a title, press the back button twice to go back to the list, then open the item, remove the title on the first line, and start typing. Not exactly user friendly in my view.
