Advanced Clock Widget Pro is like the Ultimate custom clock widget. When you first load it up, the number of options and settings are overwhelming – in addition to setting the layout of the widget, you can change the colors, choose other information to display, and configure a wide range of other settings.
I tried a range of configurations and settings, and I have to admit, I had a lot of fun trying out different combinations. I do wish that the preview was a bit stronger – to really see what it would look like, I had to go back to my home screen each time. There is a preview, but it’s dummy information, and I wanted to see what it would look like with my actual settings and data. In addition to just the clock, you can choose to see information like the current weather, weather forecast, battery status, the Wi-Fi network you’re connected to and more. You can also custom adjust the colors of every part of the widget, which, in the end, means you will be able to get precisely the widget you want.
The trade off is that there is just so many different options that it’s plain overwhelming. I had to sit and just play with it for a while before I started to narrow down which ones I wanted to stick with. However, this can be great for those who love the control of configuring their own home screen clock widgets rather than relying on those preset by developers or third parties. Usefulness:
A clock widget is always a useful thing to have, and having a widget that will let you combine a few other monitors into it is a nice thing. It means you can see more information in less space on your home screen, without being so many separate widgets, which I really liked.
Ease of Use:
Actually using the widget is easy, since it’s on your home screen, and you just glance at it to get the information. Setting it up, however, is a bit more complicated. For the price, you get a huge amount of value, which is nice, but it also means there’s a huge amount of settings to go through. It will take a while to go through and try them all, then fine tune what you really want and need.
Frequently Used:
Once you set it up, this is a widget you’ll use on a daily basis, if not more, since it will be on your home screen, and you’ll probably glance at it every time you use your device.
Interface:
The interface for the settings is very simple – it’s a settings menu. The widget itself has an interface that you design based on your preferences and needs, so it really becomes an interface that is custom to you.
